Potion Guide UNFINISHED
Cauldron:
MXM
MXM
MMM
M=Iron ingot X=Nothing
Brewing Stand:
XBX
CCC
B=Blaze rod C=Cobble X=Nothing
Potions:
GXG
XGX
G=Glass block X=Nothing
You get three per craft.
Bucket:
MXM
XMX
M=Iron ingot X=Nothing
To fill a Cauldron, fill the bucket with water (it's best to make a brewing house near water) then right click the cauldron with the bucket. One cauldron = three bottles.
To brew the primary potions, you need one of the ingredients listed below. To place them, insert Water Bottles on one of the bottom three boxes, then place an ingredient on the top bit. A bubble meter should rapidly move, and an arrow pointing down will slowly move.
Fermented Spider Eye - Potion of Weakness I
Glowstone Dust - Thick Potion
Nether Wart - Awkward Potion
Redstone Dust - Mundane Potion
Glistering Melon - Mundane Potion
Blaze Powder - Mundane Potion
Spider Eye - Mundane Potion
Red means an instant weakness. Orange ingredients can only make weakness. Lime can be used for loads of stuff.
Mixing Fermented Spider Eye with any orange-listed potions will make potions of weakness (though Mundane has a shorter time)
Awkward Potions are the base for anything good or bad.
Sugar - Speed
Ghast Tear - Regeneration
Glistering Melon - Instant Health
Blaze Powder - Strength
Magma Cream - Fire Immunity
Spider Eye - Poison
Secondary Potions can be made too. Plus, adding Redstone to any potion with effects will lengthen the effect to around 2.5x, and Glowstone Dust strengthens it but at the cost of shortening the time by half. If a potion is instant, it can only be upgraded with Glowstone Dust. Gunpowder can be used for turning it into a splash potion, so you can throw it. However, the throw is very short (about 1/6 of a snowball throw) and when using a splash with a negative effect, try to run back while throwing the potion. Splash potions also have 3/4 of what was the length of the potion, and the further away the target is from the potion, the weaker the effect to around 4x4x4 in a spherical radius.
Instant Health + Fermented Spider Eye = Instant Damage
Poison + Fermented Spider Eye = Instant Damage
Blaze Powder + Fermented Spider Eye = Slow
Sugar + Fermented Spider Eye = Slow
Note that Instant Damage and Poison are useless against zombies, skeletons, and possibly pig zombies. Weakness potions are useless against ghasts, skeletons, and blazes.
